Queen Camilla to ‘take a break’ after leading The Royal Family in The King’s absence
|Queen Camilla is taking a short hiatus from royal duties after stepping in for her husband, King Charles III, who is undergoing cancer treatment.
The 76-year-old consort has assumed a prominent role, representing the nation at recent events such as the memorial service for the late King Constantine II of Greece.
Her Majesty will resume her duties on March 11, leading The Royal Family at the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.
In the interim, she plans to take a week-long break to spend time with her family.
A source close to the Queen shared with the Sunday Times that she has been encouraged by the positive response from the public to her increased responsibilities in recent weeks.
They added, “While unexpected, the Queen is fully committed to fulfilling her duties for the institution and is prepared to do whatever is necessary.
