PRINCESS CHARLOTTE ONCE SWIPED KATE MIDDLETON’S MILLION-DOLLAR TIARA TO PLAY DRESS UP
|Many children love raiding their parents’ closets during playtime, trying on clothes and accessories while pretending to be someone else. However, when your parents are royals, the accessories you find might be worth millions. Catherine, Princess of Wales, and William, Prince of Wales, have three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Kate Middleton and Charlotte share a hobby – playing the piano – and it’s rumored they have similar tastes in jewelry. An insider told Life & Style about Charlotte’s “very expensive taste,” saying, “She’s fascinated with her mother’s jewelry. William once found her covered in Kate’s makeup, wearing a $4 million tiara.” The source mentioned that Kate bought Charlotte a Disney tiara so she could have her own. “She prefers the real deal and made Kate promise to give it to her in the future,” the source added.
However, the insider’s claim that just one of Kate’s tiaras costs $4 million (around £3.165 million) doesn’t align with other estimates of her jewelry collection’s overall value.
Charlotte could inherit a large jewelry collection from Kate
According to Express, the total value of Catherine, Princess of Wales’ jewelry is approximately £1.7 million. Of this, £275,995 is attributed to Kate Middleton’s personal collection, while the rest includes jewelry inherited from Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana. Since Princess Charlotte is Kate’s only daughter, she may one day inherit most or all of this collection. If the story of Charlotte trying on one of her mother’s expensive tiaras is true (even if it wasn’t actually worth $4 million), perhaps Kate will lend it to her for a special occasion. This mirrors Kate wearing one of Queen Elizabeth’s tiaras for her wedding to Prince William.
Charlotte has already worn similar designer clothes and jewelry as Kate for a royal event. At King Charles III’s coronation ceremony, both wore white dresses from Alexander McQueen adorned with symbolic flowers: roses for England, thistles for Scotland, daffodils for Wales, and shamrocks for Northern Ireland. Kate also wore official royal robes for the Royal Victorian Order over her dress, and she and Charlotte had nearly identical headpieces.
