Princess Anne undertakes a third of all royal engagements so far in 2024
|The Princess Royal has undertaken a remarkable one-third of all royal engagements during the initial four months of 2024.
According to data compiled independently, Princess Anne has been maintaining a steady workload while other members of The Royal Family have scaled back their commitments due to health reasons.
By the conclusion of April, the 73-year-old royal had completed 172 engagements – an uptick of four compared to the same period in 2023.
Her Royal Highness has approximately doubled the number of engagements compared to the second busiest royal – the Duke of Edinburgh – who has undertaken 84.
Princess Anne has been acknowledged as the ‘central figure’ sustaining The Royal Family’s activities, with other senior royals temporarily reducing their official duties.
Both The King and the Princess of Wales underwent cancer treatment during the initial four months of the year.
The Prince of Wales likewise adjusted his schedule to support his wife and their three children.
Apart from Princess Anne, the only other royal family members to increase their workload in 2024 are the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Gloucester.
The 88-year-old Duke of Kent saw a 19% rise in his engagement count, while the 79-year-old Duke of Gloucester carried out 11% more engagements than in 2023.
