Pregnant Princess Beatrice Changes Christmas Plans at the Last Minute for Medical Reasons
|Christmas is just around the corner, meaning the British royal family its preparing for its annual holiday traditions. This includes Princess Beatrice, her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and their two kids. However, Beatrice reportedly changed her Christmas plans at the last minute due to her pregnancy.
To recap, the elder daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah (Ferguson), Duchess of York, married Edoardo in July 2020. He has a son, Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, 8, from a previous marriage. Additionally, Edoardo and Beatrice have a daughter, Sienna Elizabeth, 3. It seems, however, that Beatrice’s second pregnancy has prompted a sudden change of plans just days before the big holiday.
Princess Beatrice reportedly changed her Christmas plans at the last minute.
On December 22, a source confirmed to People that Beatrice suddenly changed her Christmas plans. She and her family will now reportedly spend the holiday at Sandringham with the rest of the royal family. The change was for medical reasons related to her pregnancy.
What medical issues prompted Princess Beatrice’s change in holiday plans?
It’s unclear what medical issues prompted the change of plans. Although she will be at Sandringham for Christmas, Beatrice likely will not participate in the walk to church, People‘s source claimed. Sienna and Wolfie will also reportedly attend the festivities, hosted by King Charles, Hello! magazine reported.
Just days before, she was set to travel to Italy.
On December 17, People reported that Beatrice and her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, would skip the royal Christmas gathering at Sandringham. Both sisters planned to spend the holiday with their in-laws. Beatrice, specifically, was set to travel to Italy before the last-minute change of plans.
Prince Andrew will reportedly not be at Sandringham this year for the holiday, either.
Although most of the British royal family will gather at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England, Beatrice won’t be the only one absent. Her father, Prince Andrew, will not be there either for Christmas, following the advice of his ex-wife, The Royal Observer reported. Additionally, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their two kids were reportedly not invited. It’s also unclear whether Eugenie will still spend December 25 with her in-laws in light of Beatrice traveling to Sandringham.
Beatrice announced her pregnancy in October.
On October 1, Buckingham Palace announced via X that Beatrice was pregnant with her second baby.
“Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three,” read the since-deleted post on the social media platform. “His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
