KATE MIDDLETON’S SCANDAL-HIT UNCLE WAS REJECTED BY BOSSES OF I’M A CELEB DESPITE BEING ‘OBVIOUS RATINGS WINNER

The Princess of Wales’s scandal-hit uncle held talks with TV bosses about being an I’m a Celebrity campmate but was rejected.

Heavily tattooed Gary Goldsmith, the brother of Kate’s mum Carole Middleton, has frequently embarrassed his royal niece with his behavior. He was fined for assaulting his wife and was filmed chopping up cocaine in Ibiza.

The 58-year-old millionaire businessman met the I’m a Celeb casting team, and ITV bosses thought he could be a massive ratings hit.

But there were fears he would further embarrass the Princess of Wales and other royals by speaking out around the campfire.

It is believed TV execs had second thoughts after his audition, and he will not appear.

An insider said: “Gary was well up for a stint in the Aussie jungle and taking part in the Bushtucker trials, but it doesn’t seem to be happening anymore.

Obviously, he could be a ratings winner, but maybe it’s just too much of a risk.”

He would have been one of the most controversial campmates in the history of the show.

Goldsmith, who amassed a £30 million fortune through an IT recruitment business, was caught cutting up cocaine for a prostitute at his Ibiza party villa in a 2009 newspaper sting. He was fined £5,000 and sentenced to a 12-month community order.

And in 2017, he admitted attacking his wife Julie-Ann and knocking her to the ground in a drunken row.

A spokeswoman for ITV did not want to comment.

A spokeswoman for Kate, who was pictured as a teenager at four-times wed Gary’s marriage to second wife Luan in 1997, also declined to comment.
